This is an old debate, but the price of the XB1 has only dropped $50 since launch.

 

The XB1 with Kinect (launch configuration) is $449.  $50 off or you can buy the AC bundle with Kinect for the same price.  

A person could argue (not realistically) that it is the software being discounted, not the system.

But, either way, the system is available in multiple configurations that can go as low as $349(No Kinect), but that system only dropped $50 since it's launch as well.

semantics my friend. I think peopel underate just how important that sticker price is in the mass market. It doesn't matter if the price has only really dropped by $50. What matters is that at $500 with kinect and then at $400 without kinect, consmers still didn't see a lot of value in the console. At $350 with a game, is a price drop. Cause the XB1 will now be markete as "startig from $349". 

That $349 price point is all the average consumer cares about. And MS knows it. What was removed or added to the box is irrelevant. Its a new and lower price for the console.
