You haven't played many realistic games then, as I expected.

They are just generic, usually using two or three shade of grey and dark grey.

There is more to a setting in a game than the colour palette, you know, something called level design and atmosphere.

Anyways games with realistic graphics have a more varied colour palette than what you give them credit for.

Colour is extremely important.

Grey games are bland, generic, in spite of their level design. Color is the most important parameters of how a game look. It also sets the atmosphere.

As I said realistic games don't just have fifty shades of grey in them, they also have a variety of colours. It seems you have only played a few ones which happened to be greyish.

Also I disagree. Colour is not as important in creating a setting as the level design and scale of the world.

I stand on the fact that colour is important. What I dislike the most about the PS3/PS4/XBO era, is that virtually all their games are made with a deep grey filter over the screen. All colours are looking bland on almost every game. There is no life in it. It's technically advanced and complex, but not artistic.
