Games you knew were bad, but loved anyway.

There's something to be said for personal tastes and shifting standards.

In the case of Skyward Sword, though, I think one could make a pretty good case. The story is slow, shallow, and badly written. The combat is simplistic when it's not outright broken. Worst of all, the moment-to-moment gameplay is tedious and repetitive. It's just a mess.

All I'm saying is that's not popular opinion. Popular opinion is it's one of the best Legend of Zeldas in the series. 

Just because something is popular that doesn't mean it's not bad. There's a lot of popular media that's pretty bad.

As far as Skyward Sword goes, I'm far from the only one to think so.
