If Nintendo introduces a better account system (digital sales bound to the NNID, not to the hardware) and makes the eShop more attractive (cross-buy for some indie and VC games, more or bigger sales, discounted eShop gift cards...), the digital revenue-share could go up much faster.

Personally speaking if Nintendo did make most of those changes, I would purchase nearly everything digitally on both my Wii U and 3DS. I love the digital download systems on Steam and on my Playstation devices, and I would not mind transitioning away from disks (they are noisy and highly prone to damage) on my Nintendo systems as well. Also, your games are now tied with your NNID, the problem is that your NNID can only be used on one portable and one console at a time, but if you call Nintendo and give them your NNID they will tell you all of the digital games you purchased with that account (with the exception of Wiiware purchased on Wii Shop Channel on both Wii and Wii U and DSiWare purchased on DSi Shop on the DSi).
