1 month of Smash in the holiday season of 2014 will have just as much impact as the rest of the game's life. Zelda's system selling potential got watered down when Wind Waker HD and Hyrule Warriors released but it gets more watered down cause Nintendo opted out for not a very fond art style. Star Fox has lost a lot of it's popularity so it's nowhere near as strong as you think it is. Mario Maker will sell tons of more WII U's when three other mario games are already out there on the WII U ? Kirby ?! LOL, that franchise is getting more irrelevant with each passing day and the same goes for Yoshi ... What favours are these games going to do for the WII U when they have some troubles selling 1 million units on a bigger install base ? |
No one said they were huge sellers. But any first party exclusive is good for Wii U, and a Kirby and Yoshi game combined will be at least the impact of say Hyrule Warriors. Smash will probably sell more in 2015 than MK8 this year. Zelda+Animal Crossing can be the Smash equivalent for next Holiday. Mario Maker will be much bigger than Donkey Kong for sure. So I've just matched everything up to this year, and not even accounted for some other games scheduled like Splatoon, Mario Party, Xenoblade, or Star Fox. And whatever impact Amiibo has. I've given you plenty of reasons why 2015 can have a bigger impact than 2014 for Wii U.
