I'd bet every penny that this is not Wii U's peak selling year, especially with all the heavy hitters next year. The 360/PS3 both went longer into their lifespans before having peak years. The second full year on the market used to be a common peak year for consoles, but seventh gen changed all that. I'm guessing 8th gen will be similar.

If I may ask what are the WII U's heavy bitters for next year ?

The last gen HD twins both had better software support than the WII to sustain their lives longer so unless Nintendo are willing to do the same it won't hold true for the WII U ...

Well for starters I completely believe Smash is a huge heavy hitter for not just Holiday, but all of Q1 and Q2 2015. The hype around it already seems way bigger than MK8, which gave the Wii U a nice sales bump for a few months. I'm actually hearing Nintendo naysayers saying they want the system just for Smash, and it's not even out yet. If word of mouth starts spreading once it comes out, it could be all Wii U needs for a long time in 2015.  Aside from that though, they have enough  first party exclusives lined up next year to release nearly one per month. They may not actually release one every month, but either way we should get a solid 10 first party Nintendo games. Opposed to this year which pretty much just had Donkey Kong, MK8, Hyrule Warriors, and Smash. 2015's lineup is nowhere near as sparsely populated, and that's assuming nothing big unannounced comes out towards the end of the year, which is still a possibility. I also wouldn't underestimate Mario Maker. The Minecraft fad shows how much gamers (kids especially) like to create their own stuff.
