I think that's mostly to do with how the images are saved in JPG format. So generally, the PS4 screenshots wouldn't look any worse than other screenshots saved in JPG.

Lol. Now you are not saying its not pixel perfect and blaming JPG format. Ha ha ha.

As "perfect" as JPG would allow. Like you said, it looks bad in certain situations, particualrly dark areas. I haven't taken screenshots in such scenarios, so I haven't encountered those weaknesses. And those factors aren't in play for most of AC Unity's screenshots, either.
