It won't be that confusing since they will discontinue selling the old 3ds units shortly after the launch of the new 3ds. There may be a short peroid of time where there is some confusion. I don't see it being a major issue as those casuals who are adopting the 3ds now will not no the difference and will buy the new system because it's the one available for sale on the shelf. Guys like us will know all about it and buy it to replace our old 3ds units. In the future there will be some who Xenoblade and then take it home and discover that it only runs on the New 3ds. They will return to the store and can then have it explained to them. They can either return the game or they can at this point purchase a new 3ds.
