 Actually, funny you should say that.  Any task on the PS3 can only use up to 50% of the Cell's power because of the way it's built.  So yeah, the Cell is incredibly powerful, but since everything is split between threaded and dedicated, nothing can take full potential of it.

Don't get me wrong, by splitting it like that you can do some really incredible things, but it comes of the price of being able to use only half of the processor.
