3DS isn't the strongest in US and Europe (Last US, 750k~ in Nov and 1.2m in Dec) Sales are down 50% yoy, so I have no idea what he is talking about, the west needs the new 3DS badly.

Sales this holiday will show this.

They may have overshipped the older models (and the 2DS, which they seem to have pushed hard earlier on this year.)

Actually, I have a feeling that they're just trying to get rid of the 2DS while they can, seeing that the older models will get pushed to closer to the 2DS price point.
