What the companies call sales are what we call shipped- what they ship to retailers they call sales because that is who they are selling to -
The amount the retailer sells is what we call sales, the difference In The 2 numbers is the inventory
So all 3 console makers use the same language when they are reporting their earnings and speaking to the investment communitty
