Some parents are stupid too and some retail staff are dumb as bricks too.
I can totally see this happening
Kid: I want Smash Brothers for my Wii U!
Parent: OK dear.
(goes to store)
Parent: I need Smash Brothers something or other.
Clerk: Yup, we have it here. There's one for $39.99 and the other one for $59.99.
Parent: Oh I'll take the cheaper one.
And voila now the kid has Smash Bros. for 3DS instead of Wii U.
