Sales and critical acclaim only prove popularity. It's still just opinions.

As I said before, GOW was the better overall product. Bayonetta gets away with senseless stories because it has no competition. People have forgotten what it was like for games like DMC to have competition like GOW in its hey day. If Sony Santa Monica was handed Heavenly Sword We might have a great new heroine on the PS4. 

Bayonetta doesn't "get away" with anything; it simply puts fun first, as every video game should.
