WOW, the responses here...

So essentially; Women cannot be funny, or poke fun at themselves or appeal to a non-female demographics.

Equally; An all male cast is normal, doesn't even get questioned, it fits the characters, its the default. An all female cast= Feminist Agenda.

I have no hopes of the film being good til I get a good look at the writers and director but still, y'all are evidence for why there needs to be an active push bring gender equality.

Really? Do we have to push gender equality even in GHOSTBUSTERS? Really? Come on man!

Women are great, they are worth the same as men, but, Jesus Christ, are we not diferent? Are genders not unique?

This is just ridiculous. I know there is a Agenda to make humanity think that men and women have no diferences whatsoever, but, come on.

We think diferently, our bodies are diferent, we even feel and see in diferent ways.

Sure, women are even more smart than men and can have the jobs they want, but what is the point of having a SEX IN THE CITY movie with a all male cast?

Or to make a PRETTY MAN movie... Pretty man... walking down the street, pretty man...

Why can´t you see that this is not misoginistic?

It is like saying we are going to make a JOANA D´ARK movie with a male Joana. It is just not a good idea.

Women can be funny, in their own unique way, that is not the issue.

I really think the one gender Agenda is bad to all humanity. Ghostbuster 4 will have transgender people and Ghostbusters 5 will have animal hybrids, how that sound?

Equality isn't the same as saying everyone is literally the same. Its being able have an all female lead in a popular franchise not specifically targeted at women (sex in the city) and people not going ape shit simply because they are female. Have you seen the cast? Have you read the script? What are people actually critising other then fact that the film features females?

As far as I'm aware they are not having the same characters from the original simply in female skin, if they are then my bad but otherwise much of your sentiment is a miss. Its like saying How can Final Fantasy XIII have a female lead, when XII had a male one? Easily they are not the same characters in each respective entry. Same franchise, different characters... not same characters, different genders.

Criticising the leads or expressing that you don't find any known female actors funny is actually fine. Its more the idea that some males are predespoded to instantly reject the idea that a female is lead in a piece of media they consume.
