I fail to see why $50 would make a difference to someone. If you want a PS4, $50 isn't going to make its better graphics, Network, and quantity/quality of games stop being worth it. And if you wanted an X1, that $50 wasn't stopping you from getting one considering the overall amount of the money spent in a generation is FAR more $350.

I don't think Sony will react much, if at all, and the the PS4 will still outsell the X1 2:1.

The chance of that happening is not  a as great as before..

Technically you are right - there is a lesser chance that PS4 will trounce the X1 this holiday.  But is a 90% chance really much different than a 95% chance?

The X1 has been bundled to death already and had dozens of unnofficial price drops all over the world.  People have spoken, and they just don't want it (Relatively speaking).

Really it's like the Zune:  The Zune launched at the same price as the iPod with the same storage capacity.  However the iPod just did what it was menat to better: Play music.  The iPod was smaller, easier to navigate, and simpler to load up with songs and use.  Yeah the Zune had these other features but they really just distracted from its main purpose...Sound familiar?  Price drops, new features - it DOESN'T MATTER.  People bought the iPod and now by the PS4 to do what they bought them to do.  The market has spoken, and the winner was chosen.  End of story.
