3D world is 1080p and 60fps, Pikmis 3, etc. I still say Mario Kart is, until Nintendo themselves says it isn't. (I don't trust 3rd party sites, who spout resolution and numbers of games, without being privy to the actual code). |
3D World is 720p/60fps and Pikmin 3 720p/30fps.
I can't imagine why you wouldn't believe '3rd party sites' like DF. There's nothing particularly complicated about working out an exact resolution. Pixel counting isn't a mysterious art known only to a select few :p It's pretty simply. Same with frame-rate.
Not to mention, the direct screenshots provided by Nintendo for Pikmin, 3D World and MK8 were 1280x720. Their screens for Smash and WWHD on the other hand were at 1920x1080. Nintendo also tend to openly boast when one of their games is 1080p (as with Smash), like everyone else does.
Are you by any chance getting native and up-scaled resolutions mixed up? The native resolution of those three games is 720p, but like most games these days, they're up-scaled (stretched out) to whatever resolution your TV is.
There's really no reason to not trust DF. Despite their popularity, not once has a developer or publisher come out and claimed they've lied to deceive people. That speaks volumes for their credibility.
