So you really think that after two years on the market and one price cut, the Wii U isn't making a profit per unit sold when, before the console even launched, Iwata implied the Wii U would be profitable after one or two retail games are purchased with it?

Except it isn't just about paying off the cost of the hardware by buying a couple of games. They've also got to make back the money they spend on marketing the Wii U, as well as get back the money that went into it's R&D.

I edited my post above. If the Wii U has a typical five-year lifespan, I'm pretty sure Nintendo will be able to break even on Wii U marketing and R&D at a minimum, especially considering how lackluster the former has been.
