Nintendo will give up on the Wii U after 2016 to focus on Fusion, that will cause Wii U discussion to stop, though I suspect in the broader sense when Smash fails to "save" the Wii U and sales flat line again early next year, that will be the back breaker for most of those still holding out hope.
Same deal as Vita, once things like Killzone and Tearaway "failed" to save the system, most Vita fans shut up and accepted the reality of the situation.
