Don't think they'll announce a new console just 2 years after launch, given the amount of time it takes to develop one.

At the moment it is looking very much like it will be trailing the X1.

As far as profitability is concerned, Nintendo announced last May that the Wii U was no longer selling at a loss.

That is incorrect info that was spread around rapidly- Iwata himself in Investors Q and A says the Wii U cost more to male than they can sell it for-  if they sell 3.6 million Wii u s this fiscal year they will break even due to writing down the losses from leftover inventory from last year therefor lowering the t cost of the console this year -

OK, so that's no losses going forward. Plus, I think it was mentioned very early on that the purchase of one game per console would cover any difference.

No that is not want that means - once they sell off the stock this year that was already written down on the books they will go back to whatever the actual cost is as thier basis-  I remember the comment re 1 game takes them to profit but now they are bundling 1 or 2 games in many of thier console sales so that raises their basis a little and cuts into software sales-   Not saying they can t make a profit, it is just getting more difficult for them-  IMO they will lower the price after this fiscal year
