Why not just explain what makes Bloodborne technically impressive and why its so crucial to the gameplay. Or we can just move on. I'm fine with either. |
Fast action open world game with a good number of ennemies + great animations + beautiful assets and great lightning effects + real physic simulation on player and ennemies ( this is the kind of next gen effects you'll see a lot this gen , it makes the thing more dynamic visually , you can see that on clothes, on wolves and especially on first boss with all his hair moving dynamically, it is rather impressive and what impresses me the most in the game, it makes him really alive, this kind of things takes a lot of power and are really next gen, especially with so many ennemies and so many things on them) + i'll let DF explain the other advanced technical stuff.
This is simple, it's impossible for such game to run on old gen, even in 680p 10 fps
I didnt say it was crucial to the gameplay, since i said you could have the same game with DS2 tech ( well even worse than dark souls if you want a fast souls game and as many ennemies ) like you could make Infamous on PS3 with Infamous 2 tech and Ryse on 360 with old gen tech. But it is crucial to the atmosphere, it is crucial if you want to keep the optimal experience as the dev imagined it. Like they themselves said, it was impossible to do such game on old gen
