| Burek said: Sony wins for sure. MS tried to undercut Sony in September, and PS4 almost doubled XOne's sales. MS offered a $399 console bundled with a game, plus a free hit AAA game of choice (mostly Destiny and some Madden) and still got easily beaten by PS4 which required customers to pay extra $50 for Destiny. So, the perception is that PS4 is so superior that it is a good deal to pay $170 more for it --- an almost 3 game difference. There is no chance a mere $50 pricecut will entice customers to buy an inferior product. This move will just alleviate what would have been a total debacle and a 2:1 or even bigger sales ratio in favor of PS4. Unless XOne starts selling for $229, they will not catch up. Especially since it is certain that both CoD and AC:U will sell better on PS4, and that people don't care if they get a game for free on a console they don't want. Add to that PS4's GTA bundle (which will probably be the best selling game this month), Far Cry bundle (a probable GOTY and a great PS4 system seller) and LBP bringing the console to younger generation (a market segment MS doesn't even attempt to attract), PS4 will outsell XOne by at least 60% in November, and will sell more than double in December... |
but the xb1 is the better product. most consumer just dont know, and are tricked into sonys marketing. and as we know. the best (and cheapest, also) marketing is to get ur consumers to work for you. and the ps4 audience is doing a hell of a good job promoting the ps4
