The events of May 21st and E3 2013 pretty much doomed the Xbox One vs. the PS4. People tolerated Microsoft's business practices during the salad days of the Xbox 360 because of Xbox Live and the superior multi-platform versions of 3rd party games. When those days came and all they did was talk about how they wanted to punish their loyal fanbase by restricting their freedoms, the honeymoon was over. If MS simply offered what Sony did in regards to the PS4 (regardless of the innards) we'd have a dead-heat in sales.
Don Mattrick's vision was the wrong one at the wrong time and nobody was going to accept it with open arms. Well, other than those people who post on that blog.
I simply can't trust Microsoft at this time.
