Dynasty Warriors Next is better looking, has a better framerate, is exclusive to Vita but has annoying touch screen controls. It has a conquest mode that isn't available in DW8XL.
Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends has more content, no touch gimmcks and is generally the better game, but has a worse framerate, looks worse and is also on PS4. It has ambition mode (which is fantastic) which isn't availble in Next.

Lol i can live with worse framerate and looking. I used to play Dark Souls Prepare to Die on my low-end laptop, with average 20 fps and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on vita isn't turned me off either. And i'm getting used by watching Youtube videos on 240p-360p all the time........so i'm good. >_<
