Does it matter? What's wrong with a console starting to slow down in Japan after selling 15 million units? DS was in a state of constant decline in Japan starting in December 2006, barely two years after its launch -- by which point it had sold about 14 million units. By the time its fourth birthday rolls around, the 3DS will be one of the top 7 best-selling platforms of all time in Japan. It's natural for its hardware sales to be falling, as most of the market has already bought one.
