Look at the Nintendo games for example, there has been many Nintendo games that came out this year with various scores. You have games like MK8 that were in the 80s and Hyrule Warriors that was in the 70s but the people that bought them didn't really complain and thats cause Nintendo showed exactly what to expect without the consumers having to do research on their own... |
1) I remember the threads for Watch Dogs. You could see that the game looked worse before the game released. If you still bought it even after the new trailers, aren't you to blame if you end up disappointed? If you were the owner of a business and your product got a ton of awards, wouldn't you flaunt it? Sounds like it was the E3 gaming press that hyped it up to me.
2) That just sounds lazy. People tend to shift the blame onto someone else when things go wrong. It's your hard earned money, why would anybody drop $60 on something without researching it? Sounds like a "consumer being lazy" problem rather than a "business deceived me" problem.
As far as the Nintendo games go, it sounds like people simply didn't over-hype them. A ton of people were disappointed with Skyward Sword though. Why? Because people had too high of expectations. Back then, it wasn't Nintendo's fault, just as today it isn't Ubisoft / Activisions fault.
I respect your opinion (as always Jizz) but I definitely disagree on this one
