But the Wii U will eventually get a sale from me I didn't really need one before because my friend in college had one, but now that I've graduated and become a grad student, I should probably get one for my own.

I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you are expecting B2 to de-slump Wii U for a few weeks. It will be lucky to de-slump it for a week. Even if it causes sales outside of Japan to double for the week it will still be the thrid placed new gen home console for the week. The only thing it would do is put it ahead of PS3. The natural seasonal lift will start kicking in for Wii U which will make things look better compared to it's sales over the last few months. But I dooubt it will make things look better compared to PS4 or Xb one during this period. Your only real hope this year is SSB. I suggest you not place unfair expectations on Bayonetta 2.
