Clearly there has been a great take up in digital games, even with their 50GB sizes, and there are benefits to Sony with more people going digital

They get a 30% cut (probably roughly something like that) from every digital sale, rather than just their small royalty fee from every physical sale

They can also save some money by not including it obviously. It will also keep the console quieter and cooler

You can also make a few tiers and do some traditional hard drive pricing rip offs

The real problem with the article is the SSD part. A 512GB SSD costs as much as the whole console (last time I checked). With game sizes seemingly increases by the day, even that will be a little bit on the small side. The next SKUs will be 1TB or more. I believe the Xbox One has already started the trend
