I think I'd go : Romo 7/10 (surprising spin dodge move, but little to no scrambling, moderate/high durability, high determination) Brady 6.5/10 (much of his success was cemented by having a truly solid supporting cast, so this isn't a dig at him, brains-wise he ranks higher of course) Ben 7/10 (low mobility, extreme durability) Kaep 9.5/10 (imagine Romo or Peyton with his raw physical abilities to scramble and to fire cross field bullets, it's hard to imagine much better in physical gifts, though of course we've seen decision making and attitude issues really limit the effectiveness of his potential) Wilson 8/10 (overachiever in all respects, but he's short, and always feels like he's a play away from getting that blind-side hit that ends his season or his career. Maybe if every QB was sub 6' I'd give him higher marks for gymnast-like agility and surprising speed, but that small frame and short stature docks him from the top) Brains-wise : Romo 8.5/10 (REALLY good when he's good, actually surprisingly good even under pressure, but we all know of the times where it's just been too much for him. I don't blame him too much though, because he's been asked to do the impossible far too often. It's seldom but at the same time extremely memorable when he does things that are bone-headed, like forcing balls into double or triple coverage for no purpose like in the SF game when the run game was cooking so well). Brady 8/10 (what can I say. A lot of people hate him, but he is what he is : a pretty smart and talented QB1) Kap 5.5/10 (my earlier rating might have been unfairly harsh, but I do think he makes bad reads and bad decisions in almost every game that hurt to watch. He can play a great game if leading, but tends to fall apart if the pressure keeps up for very long. You don't want this QB if you're trying to dig out of a hole!) Wilson 8/10 (hard to rate. An incredibly hard worker, pretty smart with the ball, seldom makes terrible decisions, but I don't think he's a golden ticket when you need a force of nature to tear up the field either, so I can't rank him as high as QB's that actually improve under pressure.) And that's my IMO. |
I definitely dont think you have been paying that much attention to wilson if that is your evaluations of him...
