You should be proud of them. They did REALLY solid work on the field in terms of playing hard every down. Particularly when you consider Cruz is out of the picture, and JPP missed some downs. If anything, a lot of blame has to go to Coughlin imho. He coached that game badly. That one blitz they ran was beyond stupid and opened the 3rd down up incredibly easily. Going for the 4th down early also showed a bad confidence in their defense to actually do their jobs. The fact that it was only a 10 point gap is all credit to Eli and his adapting to the openings, and their O line actually stepping up this week and protecting him. If Coughlin wasn't such a derp, they could have done a lot better. Coughlin compeltely blew it for them in Philly as well. I have to think his time as HC is marked, NYG deserve so much better, and someone more modern. |
I'm extremly proud of them! They gave the Cowboys (a top tier team) a run for thier money! I know the Giants aren't some super star team but they defiantly have a lot of things going for them. The offense has been working really well, Eli is playing greatl this year, we have some great WR's with a lot of potential and the defense is pretty solid too. Thats why I was so pissed last week when the Giants did NOTHING against the Eagles. They are so much better than that and this game clearly showed that.
I dont compeletly agree that it was all Coughlin's fault, we had a lot of penalties again that killed some of our drives down the field and that fumble that gave the Cowboys great field positing that let them go up 2 scores.
I do think we ran the ball WAYYYY to much this game. I have no idea why we were running the ball EVERY 1st and 2nd down getting at the most 3 yards between the two plays. This forced Eli to go for long 3rd downs almost everytime. What Dallas isnt really good at is there secondary. The Giant's last TD drive was nearly perfect becuase they were throwing the ball. They didnt waste there downs on runs and went straight to the endzone to make it a one score game. Unfortuantly it was a little to late for my G-MEN.
Coughlin just needs to adjust faster in game.
