Lol it will NOT reach the ps2's massive numbers because this generation will not be as long as expected. It will probably be around 5-6 years before we see a new wave of next generation consoles (being generous) because they are already under powered in comparison to pcs. I am no elitist, (have x1) but what rich from reviewtechusa saying is true, consoles cant even get 1080p 60fps as the norm whilst pc are already doing 4k etc.

As games increase in technical demand, I actually expect the resolution to go down further and maybe few games ever reaching 60fps. Hell wasnt The Evil Within sub hd on x1? Its already happening and normally i wouldnt be worried about not having the best graphics etc, but what if devs have to cut down the amount of AI that is on the screen and limit the game worlds, etc to compensate for the hardware?

1. PS2's generation was also 5-6 years

2. Consoles back than were also underpowered

3. PS4 is more powerfull than the majority of gaming rigs at steam atm.

4. Even if they were underpowered compared to PC, the graphics standard are set by the consoles, not high end PCs

5. Evil Within is technically terribly optimazed game, across all platforms, it couldnt even hit 60fps on on most powerfull PC GPUs.
