What are your (main) reasons why you bought the Wii U?

That's when I started shifting thought to the Wii U.

All very nice points, and I too felt like the PS4/Xbone are more of the same. Sort of like simply upgrading an iphone to its latest model. I also felt people swarmed to the PS4 because of just that, it is more of the same, with no surprises.

To me the Wii U is a gaming device at heart, where I can have fun playing it with a room full of people.
