3D World is must have, the problem is the Wii U is probably the first home console Nintendo ever put out that was not built around its main controller and sadly most games reflect that mind state.
Nintendo has done nothing with the Wii U's Gamepad besides provide another place to play a game other then on a TV since it released Nintendoland. If the Gamepad was the central idea of the console they have done a crap job showcasing it or a crap job with trying to have all the options available from the Wii to present still work because it undercuts what could and should have been their console's main selling point.
Not even a great Mario game like 3D World can fully overcome such a handicap as that. Maybe Smash Bros along with Mario Kart ultimately will but you can't blame it on one game.
