Nah, just have to hope this works out. Doing a good deed can't possibly be the wrong thing in the long run, even if it's going to set me back today.

(plus I *did* overdress today, not for that, but because i have two presentations to give. She is decidedly underdressed today).

As long as you're sure you'll get another chance then sure, it won't really do any harm.
