Abuse is not empowerment.

She tortures all her enemies. It would be a double standard not to do the same to female enemies. Empowerment is a key element of S&M.

The empowerment in S&M comes from the mutual agreement of the submissive party willingly handing over their power and control to the one that will be controlling them - specifically, the one in control is willingly given in essence, the fate of the submissive partys wellbeing.
Abusive S&M is not empowerment of the abuser, it is removal of the power of the victim.

There is a difference, regardless of if you comprehend it.
