Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby let you take to the skies and freely fly around a Pokémon game's map for the first time. Flying itself is nothing new - you've been able to quickly swoop from one location to another since the series' origins - but this is the first time you'll actually be able to take off and explore the world from the air.
The new feature will let you reach new areas, including hidden islands and mysterious Mirage spots which contain rare Pokémon and items. You'll also be able to take part in aerial Pokémon battles. But you won't be able to climb aboard any Pokémon - you'll need one of the game's two legendary critters Mega Latios or Mega Latias, as well as the new Soar ability.
Around the game's mid-way point you'll gain a flute to summon one of the pair to ride around on.
