Third party support never left the building. Nintendo never let them in by never listening to their demands for specs in 2011, thus  the outcome today. Third party was more than happy to port their last gen games but next gen was out of the question and there is no reason after trying to reason with Nintendo that they should.

Third party made lazy, incompetent attempts that failed to live up to the standards Nintendo gamers are used to, so they didn't sell, so they stopped.

Nintendo gamers have very high standards. Which is why Just Dance and other party crap were huge among that audience.

Seriously though, people are buying Wii U primarily to play Nintendo games. The quality of 3rd party games isn't the issue, its the audience. Core gamers migrated away from Wii last gen for obvious reasons.

Core gamers migrated away with the Gamecube

And you really think it was the Nintendo faithful who made Just Dance a megahit?
