Now that third party support has left the building, 60fps may become standard on Wii U from here on out, but that's only one of three current gen systems.

Third party support never left the building. Nintendo never let them in by never listening to their demands for specs in 2011, thus  the outcome today. Third party was more than happy to port their last gen games but next gen was out of the question and there is no reason after trying to reason with Nintendo that they should.

Third party made lazy, incompetent attempts that failed to live up to the standards Nintendo gamers are used to, so they didn't sell, so they stopped.
