Gamepad use in W101 was very good, it definitely wins points there.

But it  just didn't feel as good as Bayonetta. When I pummeled bad guys in Bayo 2's demo, it had a sense of impact and power. In Wonderful 101 my blows against enemies felt irritatingly impotent.

Plus the crowd mechanic generated some real headaches; the big disorderly clump of characters made it hard to tell exactly what was going on when the action heated up, and made judging hitboxes annoyingly difficult. And having your gang scattered when you get hit was a real pain.

Bayonett 2 just felt so much more polished and user friendly.

The crowd mechanic was definitely a headache sometimes, especially on the platformer sections where I couldn't really tell where my guy was.

As for the sense of impact, I really didn't feel there was a problem. In regular mode it did feel like you just hacked away, nothing special. But when you went into overdrive mode you could tear through WAVES of enemies. Weapons were bigger, the characters was faster, and damage and knockback decreased.

Bayonetta does have a sense of polish that does exceed W101 though. So I do see your point.
