Wait what? Are you saying I should buy the game even though I don't have a Wii U or are you saying I should buy the Wii U for 300 dollars just to play one game?

I mainly feel that the action game genre is dying and if this one with such great reviews fails then it does not bode well. Then only god of war and dmc are left to save it. Doubt that NG will do too much. Just hurts the vareity in our industry :(

So go buy the game :D

The responsibility isn't on the consumer, it's on Nintendo to do the "right thing" and release at least a port after some time has passed. Then the burden shifts back to the consumer to "save" the genre as you speak. 

Look man, reality is that no one is going to suddenly trade in their XB1 and PS4 just to buy a Wii U for one game, no matter how praised. Heck, people aren't going to buy the Wii U period. It's the most odd console-game relationship that has ever existed. Also the most controversial for obvious reasons.
