Convention-busting RTS coming consoleside.
By Andrew Hayward, 06/14/2007

Console gamers who picked up Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars for the Xbox 360 might have expected the title to fill their yearly quota for RTS gaming, but Sierra is aiming to get another significant strategy experience into controller-hoisting hands later this year.

Sierra confirmed to us today that Massive Entertainment's World in Conflict, slated to hit the PC in September, will also be coming to the Xbox 360 later this year. A release date for the console iteration has yet to be determined, though an official announcement is expected in the coming days.

World in Conflict attempts to turn the RTS genre on its head, removing resource farming and a fixed camera perspective while delivering extremely compelling gameplay and visuals. Also, the soundtrack features Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," so that's a plus. If you haven't already, be sure to check out our recent previews of the PC build and get ready for some console warfare of the RTS variety.
