It's funny that 18 years after the n64 release Nintendo still has this stigma of being "kiddie". That concept is as far as the Earth is from Pluto.

Take a game like "Earthbound". Oh it's has a Child protagionist, it has 12 year olds fighting Aliens, and look at those colors and those graphics!! It looks like a Japanese episode of PEANUTS with Snoopy!! It must be kiddie!

Ahem... WRONG!! Earthbound is probably more Mature than 80% of the games on PS3 or Xbox 360.

Never judge a book by it's cover. Though I really doubt these trolls even read books...

EDIT: For the Record., I always heard how great Earthbond was since I was a boy. It wasn't till I read the SMASH vs PSASBR thread that I really became interested in playing it because people were talking about how Insanely powerful Ness is. Then I saw this video and I was sold. I bought it for my Wii U and will start playing it after I finish Hyrule Warriors...

The problem with that is that the references are not direct. If you understand the references, sure, but why is it bothering with the childish gloss over? Did bioshock have that? No. And that's a problem. No matter what the roots are, it's still a game about kid with frying pans taking on aliens and a happy cult.

Again, judging a book by it's cover. Nothing wrong with reading between the Lines. Hell, Majora's Mask is about Link Dying and MANY characters die in it, and has these scary looking things...

But yet, it's still not a Mature game because of the E rating or the Gloss like you say... And their are TONS of little things like this that make this game so creepy. Doesn't matter though, people can keep paying attention to the cover, I rather read what's inside...
