Actually I take back the release date being a possibility. Tabata said the game is 55% done and they're now Resource producing in the game...although I can only imagine that means maybe they're already done with the groundwork and now they have decided to add a dungeon here and there, a town here and there and so on. Hopefully some of those resources are a variety of transportation.
I don't think they would intentionally put the release date at the end if they weren't already completely confident they were finished with the game already.
