you say that like this would be a good trend for future games, to be downgraded for the sake of a weaker console

You say that like developers have never released multiplatform games across PC and consoles where the console version isn't necessarily based on the most powerful hardware of the generation (PS2/X360) before it gets ported to others, and therefore doesn't fully take advantage of more powerful hardware (GC/XB, PS3).
