Not really. They had the Alpha and Beta, an open Beta at that. So there was plenty of opportunity to try out the game before buying. They even offered a free upgrade to a current gen version, so people that bought a PS4/Xbox One because of Destiny can have absolutely no complaints either, they easily could have got the game on their PS3/360 then bought a PS4/Xbox One and upgraded the game for free.

alpahs or betas never get into the story of a game.

they made it out to be some big scifi space drama, epic and all.  Called it a gem while reality showed it to be a turd.

i have issue with that.
