If you're explaining why yogurt tastes good, but others say it pales to icecream, then you didn't really go sell yogurt as much as you've expressed yogurts fine points. Third, you mention Text Chat as if it were old and useless technology, but really, it works just the same, better, or a little worst than voice chat. In leagues of legend, text chat is all I can stand. Hearing annoying voices I've never heard is just too arbitrary for me. And that's opinion based. Fourth, there are far better games that get you to be more social. Wow, Minecraft, hell even facebook games. As for shooters being social games, it's hard to blend the two things together. It's too face pace to really develop much of a comradary. Sure, it is possible and more than likely spawned a whole mess of budding bromances, but it's not really social. Not like you and the person on the other end will go out for icecream. Now I want some icecream. Sorry, but bungie when making this game, you were the perfect Mark they were looking for to go about the internet describing their game as a marvel of modern gaming, when really Destiny falls flat at most of their intended targets. You're their Manchurian Candidate. Before you go up and arms and reply to this, ask yourself this: Will I be playing this game side by side when the next big shooter(COD) or any other game, comes out? Longevity is the true standard of which we place merit. |
First your question...
Yeap... I already said here I expect to be playing Desitny for years yet and I have money on PSN but I don't wish to buy anything this year... maybe Bloodborne next year... I had plans to buy a lot of games this year (including others shooters) but I realized that I will be wasting money in games that I won't play because I want to play Destiny... I don't know if I explain in the best way.
Now your points.
1) I don't think I'm minority here... most people that fast replied NO was talking about the social features in the game when it is clear it is lack it... they missed the OP point that is the fact that Destiny is making (not matter the way) people to socialize more than others MMO/games in the market... people are talking more about it with random because they need too.
And the OP was about people that is playing the game... of course not for these guys that didn't like or played the game... how you will start to have a more social gaming life due a game if you don't play the game or hate it?
If you take a look at the comments you will see there is a tie in replies... that is why I created the thread after see in GAF the opinions are 50% for each side.
2) The thread here and GAF are about the people that already are tasting the Icecream... if you playing Destiny noted some change in your social gaming life that didn't happened with others games... and yes a lot of guys are reporting that... and a lot others not.
Of course it won't be equal for everybody.
3) I really wish more games incentive voice chat over text chat... IMO when you use text chats you just talk the essencial to do that task and anything more... you don't laugh or make jokes with eachother... there is no interaction.
Voice chat is the complete oppostite... you start to have feelings with eachothers and make friendshipts... the interaction hearing the other voice make you fell more close and opened.
That is the social I mean in the games... start to make friends and talk with them.
4) I agree with you in some point... if you look like that playing game will never be social... but the social I mean is not to meet each other in real life or anything like... it is to grow relationship via gaming with others players because the common intereste... you will talk with new people, make friends, etc... this is a kind of social to me... and Desitny is doing that (even if caused by a bad social system).
5) Yeap... Bungie target me and millions of others... the guys that are being upset with the game are the ones that guessed Bungie was targeting Halo users... Destiny will suppose to be bigger than that and have a bigger audience too... time will tell of course.
