Is Project CARS even competing against FH2 ? Look, I share the same sentiment about Project CARS with you but it's a sim racer ... 

Its not directly competing with Horizon 2 but they are both racing games.  The Crew could actually sell more then Horizon 2 on the X1 in the long run since Ubisoft games usually get cheap very quickly so it will get its discount legs a lot sooner then Horizon 2 which probably be on sale numerous times during the holidays but will not get a offical price drop anytime soon.
