Your example doesn't work, because Reggie works for Nintendo while third parties do not. Nevermind that an unhappy third party could just refrain from saying anything in public. I mean, what's the point of faking a positive impression of an upcoming console in front of a camera when you have no real plans to make games for it anyway?

I throw out logic when it comes to gamers emotions that companies have to deal with.
