same here. i thought with having to pay for going online and the massive success of the ps4, i would have thought teh money woul dhave been put to improving their server infrastructure.

There's your problem. It takes time to improve the network. Sony stated they didn't understand the massive success, so not surprising they don't have enough servers installed yet.
PSN did have issues for me as well yesterday, trying to download Spelunky and Dust an Elisyan tale took a while. Plus a sizeable Diablo 3 patch was out as well. People should stop buying ps4s for a while so the network infrastructure can catch up :)

Downloads shouldn't affect servers that much as Sony most likely is paying a CDN provider for this to handle the bandwidth load.
