I'm always looking for uniqueness. Could be any aspect of the game but it should be intriguing and never been seen before. The main reason why I absolutely love games like Baten Kaitos and Resonance of Fate and Mirror's Edge and Nier. It doesn't even matter if they are actually good if they are able to bring something new and cool to the table.

I think so, too. Resonance of Fate is a good example of what I look for. It definitely wasn't without its problems, but the vignette style story-telling, the wacky writing, the somber piano pieces, the doll-like characters and muted color palette, the fussy battle system, playing dress up... it all created an indelible experience I'll remember far more vividly years from now than I will much "better" games from the last generation.
