I said next gen, not cross gen. Cross-gen gimps games by default. Tomb Raider 2 will get this up the rear.

I literally cant think of any current gen only games atm lol. Doesnt change the fact that the consoles are fairly weak.

Thats the reason why next gen consoles were needed, so they wouldn't have to dumb down the games to a level so low that it would look like you're getting two different games like cross-gen. It dumbs down the possibilities. They need the money that console gamers provide to fund their next ventures. PC wins by default because of capability and upgradable nature, but the sales on consoles are the reason why they hold back. Also, people who are privy and versed on gaming have some idea of PC's being better but like what consoles offer exclusively despite it all. They just want to game. Assassins Creed was developed with the PC gamer in mind, primarily. Now games like Far Cry? I can completely understand you if the game was gimped, but I doubt the next gen consoles will hold back PC until like 3-4 years from now. The amount of ram needed to run games is perfectly fine and the GPU is fine. High level PC graphics at the start of the gen is pretty good, i'd say.

Currnt gen was needed cause the old systems were weak but Sony/MS designed around cost not power. Every game, even double cross gen(Ps3/4/PC/X360/1) should have some sort of advantage on PC other than frame and resolution. Games like Watch Dogs had super high graphics axed cause of consoles. Shadows of Moridor Ultra settings textures are the same as PS4(possibly X1 havent seen a comparison). Its not because PS4 is that good its because its good enough on PC and it gives them time to work on other versions in time to make what they are aiming.

Current gen systems are not nearly close to high end as the PS360 systems were. On top of that the familiar arcitecture will make the consoles easier to max out. We wont know until most cross plats go only current gen and that doesnt seem to be the case until late 2015/2016.

They build the game so it can make sense to be played on consoles, which is why PC gets held back. We also know that current gen consoles aren't close to what 360 and PS3 were. The whole point is to make sure the console is affordable for the larger audience and that audience depends upon consoles. Once more, Ubisoft was hounding Sony and Microsoft to make a new console that met a specific spec type. Sony and MS had been working with third party for a couple years and figured out what they needed to do. Yes, they built for cost, but the consoles are still a considerable amount more powerful than last gen. The PS4 is the most powerful of the consoles though and we were told by Machinima last year that politics would be played to because of the PS4's power gap with the Xbone to keep multiplats at parity. This was a year ago and they are 100% correct.

Sure both consoles are that of a high level PC, but really it doesnt matter as long as the games get better for us on consoles and the PC versions get to look as good as you're used to. The console exclusives will be amazingly beautiful as well.
